Petro Poroshenko promises visa-free travel to EU by November 24

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that the European Union will abandon entry visas for Ukrainians by November 24.

«Visa-free travel will come into effect by November 24 when the Ukraine-European Union summit is to take place. We have agreed that all the documents will be ready by that time,» Poroshenko said in an interview with three Ukrainian television channels.

Commenting on the results of recent Normandy Four meeting in Berlin, Poroshenko said the leaders agreed to deploy an armed police mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, to ensure preparations for local elections there.

According to him, the armed mission should gain control of the Russian-Ukrainian border before the elections in Donbass, and «on the second day after the elections we should make sure that the Ukrainian military controls the border.»
